Every Monday I will be sending out answers to questions I receive via email, FB, Skype or LinkedIn.
Hopefully this will help you in your business.
Every day I receive messages from some of you regarding their online/offline business, and I answer as many as I can.
Itzel, my wife, suggested that I send at least once a week an email with some of the tips and answers I give to some and share these with you all.
What is the best way to get an offline client ASAP?
Clay F.
Here is what I answered Clay:
The best method to get an offline client depends greatly on the services you plan on offering, the type of business they run and your own personality.
Here is a “sure fire” plan.
The services: Offer customer reviews collection and posting.
The reason: Most businesses struggle greatly with that if they even try, most haven’t even thought much about it.
It is easy to start: it doesn’t require on your part much of a learning curve (unlike SEO, Mobile, TXT, G maps, or design) There are some automated services that can be utilized. (LBL Robot or GlowingReviews.co) I am partial to Glowing reviews as it was built for my needs according to my specifications.
It’s cheap to start: for the most part, you don’t really NEED any fancy software. There are some out there that can help automate some process, but truth be told, I started without any of these fancy tools and I’m not doing too bad 😉
-GlowingReviews.co is $25/month per biz, pay as you go-
Type of business I like to target: Home services.
The reason: There are PLENTY of them! In the home services there are 60-70 trades. (roofers, landscapers, garage door, sprinklers, painters, fences, window washing, pest control, electricians, plumbers, tilers, remodelers, kitchen, granite, gutters, blinds, trims, AC, carpet, hardwood, drive way, pool install or cleaning etc)
Easy access to decision makers: Usually the decision makers are accessible and don’t have giant egos like medical or legal professionals. Most are down to earth and easy to talk to, regular folks, like you and I.
They have money: Most of them have money and they make a nice profit per new customer. So if you price it right, you can close many easier, and build a nice foundation for your offline agency.
How to prospect? Here are 3 simple ways to get started.
I love one on one, i’m a chatter box and have zero fear of man. So I enjoy networking to local meet up groups, (where there are NO MLM guys) All to whom I gave that advice and followed have at least doubled their business in on year by going to 1 or 2 meet ups per week. NEVER pitching, simply networking. Leads will flow to you FAST.
Another powerful method is simply emailing the businesses you target. Keep it simple and to the point. (Hello, Have you noticed how (__name of competitor with more reviews__) has 10 reviews and you have none. We can help you with that. You are losing a lot of business because we all want the same: most amount of business for least amount of money and best company. Well, when someone is looking for a (___niche__) in (__city__) they see zero reviews for you and 10 for (__competitor__) we can help you out 🙂 blah blah something like that.
The price?
Sell it cheap… but never too cheap. A sweet spot for posting reviews is $150 to $300/month. I KNOW it doesn’t sound like much, but view that as a FOUNDATION. Learn to automate the process, get 10, 20, 30, 40 businesses then offer video up-sells etc Better have 30 clients set up on automated system paying $250 than 3 paying you $2000/month. Trust me on that one 😉
Also, selling a service for let’s say $250/month and spend $25/month to fulfill, thats 1000% ROI for you… Not bad! (if you use GlowingReview.co for example)
So I hope that helped some of you.
